D.I.Y. Hair mask
Hair mask recipes and ads are everywhere right now, and I know for me when I look up D.I.Y hair masks I can never find ones for which I have all the ingredients on hand or that I trust. So I mashed a few recipes together and came up with my own double moisture and de-frizz combination. This hair mask always makes my hair voluminous, shiny and smooth and I receive many remarks the next day (I wash my hair at night). For those who don't know I have extremely thick, dry and curly hair which frizzes no matter what I do.
The Ingredients:
(yes I realize some of these may seem gross but its hair food)
-Mayo (the real stuff no cool-whip)
-Honey
-Conditioner
-Mashed Banana (optional)
The mayo is a natural conditioner because of the oil, egg yolk and vinegar which are it's main ingredients.
The honey in the recipe is a humectant and emollient which helps retain moisture and smooth out the hair.
Proportions and Application:
I tend to put more mayo and honey simply because of the quantity of hair I have, the conditioner is not necessary if you do not have dry or dammaged hair but it does add an extra source of moisture. For the amount, you have to figure out whats right for your hair, the more mayo the better.
To use this hair mask, you blend all the ingredients together in a bowl (if you are planning to u
se a banana make sure there are NO lumps). Apply throughout the hair, concentrating on the tips and roots. Leave in for 15-30min and wash out with warm water, either follow with your regular shower routine or towel dry your hair.
If you play around with this recipe, make sure to leave comments down below letting me know what you did and if it works, I'll be sure to try them out.
