Organix | Brand Review
To all those who know me its no secret that my hair can get a little crazy. Curls are not always easy to manage and my friend who shared my problem introduced me to the book Curly Girl, which taught me that hair products are essential in having not only frizz but some curls too. So I went on the look for a sulfate-free, paraben-free and pthlathate-free shampoo brand and found Organix.
Organix is a hair care sub-brand of 'Vogue International' inspired by salon level treatment. This brand attempts to find natural oils, plants etc, from around the world historically used by different cultures for hair treatments; such as the Ku'kui shampoo, the oil of the nut contains vitamins, fatty acids and antioxidants, which seal in the moisture leaving you with shiny frizz- free hair (I myself have used this and can confirm the noticeably less frizz I have had). Each shampoo uses different ingredients to target different hair problems; frizz, moisture, colour damage, shine etc. Different
The packaging is simple with a different colour bottle for each line (as shown in the picture above). The pricing is perfectly reasonable at a 8.99$CAD per 385ml for the shampoo and conditioners, the special treatments varying in price range. Organix is sold at most drugstores and department stores (walmart, target etc.) in North America and at Waitrose and superdrug in the UK, and thus is quite easily accessible.
Another aspect worth taking note is that none of the products sold by Organix are tested on animals and are all packaged in 'earth friendly' packaging. Which is fantastic because I find it important to be sure that the products you buy are ethical because what you buy reflects on you. Organix falls in the green zone in 2 of the 3 categories of ethical purchasing. The 3rd category being that the ingredients themselves are ethically sourced, that the countries from which the ingredients are procured abide by UN human labour laws.
I first discovered Organix over a year ago whilst sleeping over at a friends and borrowing her shower, since then Organix has been on the rise and has become increasingly popular and releasing more and more varieties of scents and treatments. I have now tried a handful of the different Organix lines and have been equally impressed by them all. I now swear by Organix and only purchase their shampoo's and conditioners and when I use another brand I automatically notice the difference. I have always struggled with the level of frizz my hair has until I started using Organix hair care. If you are looking for a new shampoo or looking for way to get your hair healthy again, I strongly reccommend trying taking the quiz on the Organix website and trying out the line of products they suggest. Out of all the ones I have tried my favourite is the one they recommended to me, the teatree mint shampoo and conditioner which leaves my hair shiny, frizz-free and soft.
If you do try Organix out please let me know what you think and which line you have tried, I would love to hear about the different ones you may have tried so that I myself can try them too.
Until next time,
Flo
