Our Girl | TV Show Review

Since moving to England I have watch ALOT of British TV, of course there's the typical 'Great British Bake Off' and 'Strictly Come Dancing' but among my favourites has been the military drama 'Our Girl'.

Every Sunday night at 9 o'clock I curl up on the sofa with a cup of tea and settle down to watch what is quickly climbing up my list of favourite shows. I don't know what it is I love about it, I think its the different aspect you see of the military and the portrayal of a woman medic amongst male soldiers in a male dominated country. Its a very interesting look into feminism and the general life standards in Afghanistan as well as the mentality among soldiers.

In the more technical aspect of the review where my drama training comes out, the script was extremely well written and entirely believable, nothing like those cringe worthy tv series you get. I am also loving the quality of the casting (not just because of the drooling hot commander). Overall entirely believable and great quality. It all feels very realistic and like most emotional dramas I found myself swept into the relationships between the characters.
Captain James portrayed by Ben Aldridge
As mentioned, drooling hot commander, now its hard to get me to crush on an actor, I normally admire talent rather than looks but sometimes, the combination of british accent, brooding character and hot body does get the best of me and I am not the only one, so guys reading this I think nearly every straight girl would agree with me on this Ben Aldridge is hot.

'Our Girl' is a great show with a great plot, and although it is very militarian which doesn't appeal to everyone I have enjoyed it as have several of my friends. So maybe next Sunday at 9pm we will both be sat watching the BBC war-drama.
