Avene Sample Kit | Review
Hey guys,
A little while back ago I was presented with 2 samples from Avene, the 'Eau Thermale Avene gentle eye make-up remover' and the 'Eau thermale Avene Cleanance Lotion-Toner".
And so I thought today I would do a little review of them.
First off we have the Eau Thermale Avene gentle eye make-up remover (for sensitive eyes). I can't say I am entirely pleased with it. While it was not the worst make-up remover it was by far not the best.
While I am happy enough with the packaging, consistency and smell (a bit like fresh flowers), I was thoroughly disappointed with the application of the product and how well it actually works.
The make-up remover is an extremely liquid gel which is impractical for application. What i have been attempting to do whilst I use the product is poor the liquid onto a make-up cotton pad and wipe off the grime of the day. This however has proven ineffective because the make-up remover just gets absorbed into the pad and doesn't allow for enough of it to breakdown the mascara and eyeliner. Which leads me on to my next point, while it does take off most of the make-up, so it is a good preliminary method, I just havent found that it can get all of it off.
So in the end, I doubt I would find myself purchasing a full size bottle of the Avene gentle eye make-up remover.
On a slightly more positive note however, the second sample, the Eau thermale Avene Cleanance Lotion-Toner, has been thoroughly enjoyable and I will hate to come to the end of the bottle when the time does come. The toner comes in a very similar bottle as the eye make-up remover and though it does not smell quite as nice, it does have a fresh clean scent. This is a liquid toner that says it is both purifying and mattifying, and with both of these points I would have to agree.
*This is not a sponsored post, when I say I was presented with, I meant by a family member. All opinions are my own.

I've been applying this with a cotton pad following my cleansers/ make-up remover, and I have found that it removes all the excess grime which has not yet been removed and leaves my pores feeling unclogged and clean. The toner is great for oily skin (it is geared towards blemished-prone skin) and is a great add in to any anti-acne routine, however if you do have a tendency towards dry skin I would maybe avoid using it.
As I said, I will be disappointed to reach the end of the sample but I have every intention of purchasing a full size bottle when I need to.
I hope you guys enjoyed this mini review. If you have any more questions about how I liked the products or use them then ask away in the comment section and I will be happy to take the time to answer.
Love you guys ever so much,
Florence
