On My Shelf | The Host
The Host... Stephanie Meyer
The host by Stephanie Meyer is by far one of my favorite books. It is a great sci-fi/romance novel that i would recommend to almost anyone.
The novel is a story about a parasitic alien in a human body. She is all at once overwhelmed with new emotions and memories that drive her to abandon all she knows and her species. The alien finds herself at war with her mind, love and the norms.
"The memory that was not mine was so frighteningly strong and clear that it sliced through my control-overwhelmed the detachment, the knowledge that this was just a memory and not me. Sucked into the hell that was the last minute of her life, I was she, and we were running."
Stephanie Meyer writes with such emotion, that my stomach quenches in anticipation and i find my self crying. I automatically fell in love with the carchters and could not put the book down. Since i first picked it up i must have read it over 3 dozen times. So i urge all that are looking for a good book to run to the nearest book shop and purchase this novel. I promise you all that you will not be disappointed.
** Disclaimer: The book is nothing like the movie, as they usually never are. Do not base your decision of reading this book on the movie. And for those who have not yet seen the movie... steer clear of it**
